Smart City: Cape Tamarin Project gets clearance

Trimetys Ltd has announced that it has reached an important milestone towards achieving its Smart City project in Tamarin with the letter of intent issued last Friday by the Board of Investment. The Cape Tamarin project is now well underway.Cape Tamarin is the name given to the new town that will take shape on 105 acres of land overlooking the beautiful bay of Tamarin. It is a single site that will offer a new living, working and leisure activities, while preserving the natural identity of the land and enhancing its historical, social and architectural particularities. Cape Tamarin provides for the creation of 2,000 permanent jobs by 2020 in various sectors ranging from trade to health through education, services, tourism and technology. “The quality of life and community health were decisive in the choice of projects to achieve,” said Georges Talbotier, CEO of Trimetys Ltée. He also emphasized on the need to strike the right balance between building density and green areas and prioritize actions to promote diversity and strengthen the social fabric. Cape Tamarin is a project that is fully integrated to its environment. It integrates environmental requirements and high energy performance for the optimal use of solar energy and water self-sufficiency. Cape Tamarin is organised to be a lively area during the day and night, according to a cosmopolitan concept which is completely different from conventional residential severances. The project plans to build 1,200 new living spaces of all types and architectural styles. These homes will meet the needs of a diverse audience: young, single, seniors and families. Through a support program for the business creation, professional disciplines such as renewable energy, management of water resources, habitat, green mobility solutions and service to the people will be encouraged both in terms of looking at the level of commercial application. “This shows how the Cape Tamarin project is inspired by the values of the social economy,” concluded Georges Talbotier.
