Showkutally Soodhun : «Is it not my job as a leader of the country to find out jobs for you?»

Le vice-Premier ministre and ministre chargé des Terres et du Logement Showkutally Soodhun répond à ses détracteurs.

Prenant la parole jeudi 17 mars lors d’une cérémonie marquant les 40 ans d’existence du Lycée Mauricien à Phoenix, Showkutally Soodhun explique pourquoi il négocie des contrats de travail pour les Mauriciens à Dubaï ou en Arabie saoudite. Showkutally Soodhun affirme que c’est son devoir en tant que « leader de ce pays » de trouver des emplois pour les Mauriciens à Dubaï et en Arabie saoudite : « This is why I have gone to Saudi Arabia. And it is not my job to go and to find out jobs for our people in Mauritius because I am not the Minister of Employment. So forget that I am a Vice-Prime Minister, we work as a team. « And you know, now the Saudi Arabia is going to employ more than 500 nurses from Mauritius, more than 500 doctors. Is it not my duty to find out the jobs for you? Is it not my job as a leader of the country to find out jobs for you for the future? This is what we are doing. « As from Saturday, the Emirates Airline is going to employ 1 000 people. They are going to work in Dubai for three years and come back again », déclare avec force Showkutally Soodhun.
