Price tag campaign launched

The Minister of Commerce launched a sensitisation campaign on the displaying of price tags on products yesterday at Ebene. The slogan of the campaign is « Kot pena pri pa aste » (Do not buy when there is price tag).  According to Minister Ashit Gungah, the right to information is one of consumers’ fundamental rights. He underlined that bad experiences tourists as well as Mauritians experience while shopping should end. The Minister of Commerce highlighted that price display is mandatory. He added that actions will be taken against dishonest merchants. “We cannot sell products at any price. This is why we are launching this campaign. All merchants/vendors will be obliged to display price tags on their products,” uttered Ashit Gungah.
