Overseas Education Centre (OVEC): An International Education Fair not to be missed

If you are looking forward to pursue your university education, do not miss the three day education fair starting Saturday to Monday 21st November, organised by the Overseas Education Centre (OVEC). You will have the opportunity to meet with international universities representatives and apply on the spot.

Known as being the biggest facilitator for higher educatio n abroad, the Overseas Education Centre (OVEC), is organising a three day international education fair this November. With the end of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) examination, the fair is a grand opportunity for students to not only get informed about study opportunities but already apply with their forecast results to internationally renowned universities. 

From Saturday 19th to Monday 21st November, the fair will welcome the public at the Flying Dodo restaurant at Bagatelle. Not less than fifty university representatives from almost every continent will be present at the fair. Popular universities among Mauritians will be present among UK universities like Brunel University, Anglia Rusking University in Camebridge, Canadian Universities like University of New Brunswick, University of Guelph, University of Nottingham in China, Curtin University in Singapour and over five American universities. 

All those looking forward to pursue their university studies will to have the possibility to gather information on everything that relates to academic projects abroad: school, courses, teaching, visa, accommodation, scholarships, work, etc. In addition students will have the opportunity to have highly informative in-person meetings with the numerous university representatives. Those interested to study in the hospitality field will be able to know more about the scopes namely with the Swiss Education Group who will be present. Among the institutions they will represent are the Cesar Ritz, School of Hotel Management, Swiss Hotel Management School. 

Many of the institutions present at the fair will be offering scholarships and the public is encouraged to check with representatives. All those applying on spot are required to provide certificates and photocopies. For example, Deakin University, one of the most reputed and recognised universities of Australia, will be offering scholarships and bursaries to students enrolling for in 2017 for both undergraduate and post graduate courses. Note that Ravneet Pawha, Associate Vice – President (Global Engagement) & Executive Director (South Asia) of Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia are travelling to Mauritius to interview students who are finalists for the 100% scholarships. The winner will be announced on 24th November. 

As usual, the OVEC fair will be pleased to provide young Mauritians the chance to benefit from international student cards and free travel insurance, fixed rates on airfare, medical examinations, the rates of & mail exchanges and especially to have 50% discount on fees at their bank loans MCB Campus. The fair will be open from 10am to 5pm and entrance is free.
