41st Anniversary of the Mauritius Hindu Association (UK)

Spent a very rewarding time at the 41st Anniversary of the Mauritius Hindu Association held at Woodside High School, White Hart Lane, London, on Sunday 09 July 2017. Wish to thank Kresh Ramanah for his kind invitation and Sunil Mungur, Chairman of the Association, for his warm welcome and all those who contributed to make this event such a success.

Writer, Poet and Singer Lock Sohodeb (Sashi) promoted his book « A special tribute to Pundit Tookaram Sumboo ». Sashi autographed a copy for my wife, Sen Seetulsingh-Soormally, the adopted daughter of the late Ramduthlall Seetulsingh of Curepipe.

The Preface is written by Gyanchand Sunil Mungur, FCCA, Chairman of the Mauritius Hindu Association (UK). Its first paragraph reads : 

«This short book pays special tribute to Pundit Tookaram Sumboo and delves into the inspiring life story of his journey from an impoverished childhood in Mauritius to creating a rewarding new life for himself, his family and the Mauritian community in promulgating Hinduism across Europe. His philosophical understanding of the three basic teachings of Hinduism based on Dharma, Karma and Moksha formed an integral part of his mission.» 

I wish to congratulate the Mauritius Hindu Association for its good work in bringing Mauritians together and for preaching peace and harmony amongst people of all faiths.
