Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is here. As children, we were often ready to receive gifts from Santa Claus. Some of us were even writing long letters to him. Grown up, when we remember those days, it brings a smile to our face. This week, young professionals put themselves in the skin of Father Christmas.

Amber Korimdun: “Spend maximum time with the children”
Miss Earth 2016 Amber Korimdun says: “If I was Mother Christmas, first of all, I would have made sure that all kids are equally happy with what they receive for Christmas and New Year, no matter where they come from. Our children are all little stars and deserve to be happy, irrespective of backgrounds. Children usually love to have play partners. So, I would have spent time playing with them, helping them with their studies and having fun so as to make the most of the December holidays.”
Summer Székely: “Making each child feels special”
Summer, a Mauritian singer, states: “If I was Mother Christmas, I would make sure that every child feel loved and special by making them understand that they are the real gifts that the whole world has been waiting for. I would make sure that every little boy and girl understands how amazing they are and how important it is for them to smile and follow their dreams, no matter what.”
Elisa Rosse: “A Christmas without violence”
Miss Eco International Mauritius 2016, Elisa Rosse declares: “I would do my best so that all children around the world would spend an incredible Christmas. A Christmas without violence and a special thought towards Syrian and African children and those who are suffering from cancer. I would like to have a Christmas for children to be happy without the least sadness.”
Vimal Motee: “Encourage people to continue dreaming”
Treasurer of JCI Beau-Bassin Rose Hill 2016, Vimal shares: “If I was Father Christmas, I would encourage people to continue dreaming and fantasizing, as dreams do come true and we should believe in our ability to make our dreams come true. We have to keep that child inside us alive, enjoy every moment down the road whilst always working hard without expecting to have instant success because who knows, maybe success gets delivered at your doorstep someday or down the chimney.”
Kausar Jewoon: “Remove pains and sufferings”
Kausar declares: “If I was Santa, I would reduce the pain and suffering of those who are being tortured and hurt. I would help the poor and I would provide them with all the necessities. The poor are often ostracised in society and as a result, nobody offers any help. Furthermore, I would encourage people to be honest, work with integrity, to be humble with everyone and to believe in themselves. People are undermined and this can be serious, as they will tend to have a low self-esteem.”
Amal Gopaul: “A smile and a hug for every child”
Amal asserts: “It is not a matter of exchanging gifts but simply having a special thought for everyone. That thought triggers a feel-good factor which we need to have. We feel good when we wish others Merry Christmas. I would bring a smile on the face of all children and given them a hug. This enhances our positivity and our willingness to embrace a child, as being a special person for us, as being family.”
Hans Dax:“Everyone gets food”
Famous make-up artist, Hans says: “If I was Santa Claus, I would make sure each and every child as well as adult gets the most important things in life, food. Christmas is not about toys, heavily decorated Christmas tree, etc. but it’s about joy; that beautiful smile created when kids see Santa Claus, the old white bearded man, who they interpret as the personification of kindness. Funny part – also being a make-up artist, I would probably offer some appropriate make-up to ladies.”
El Muhammad: “Pamper the needy children”
Fashion designer El Muhammad believes that if he was Father Christmas, he would help all the needy children. “I would pamper them with lots of gifts and take them for lunch. I would have also spend maximum time with them. Christmas is a season for hapiness, so I would spread joy around. Being a fashion designer, I would also offer clothes to those in need. I would do my utmost for needy children.”
