On this occasion, a broad dossier on diabetes will be posted on the platform. The objective is to help the Mauritian public to learn more about the diseases and how they affect the lives of people.

The website will also provide loads of information on a variety of diseases affecting our population. Among popular health topics which will feature on the website are nutrition, well-being, psychology, beauty, fitness, the seniors, sexuality and tips. Health professionals will also provide advice to users through articles which will be posted regularly on the platform.

Topics pertaining to good looks will be adapted to the needs of Mauritians and the public will have the opportunity to benefit from advice provided by qualified therapists and beauticians.
Defisante.mu aims to be a bridge between the public and health professionals. The website will also feature practical information such as emergency phone numbers, night pharmacies, and the list of hospitals.

The directory of doctors will also be listed in order of specialization: general practitioners, dermatologists, dentists, paediatricians, psychologists, to name a few. Regarding interactive practicality, the site will also offer several health calculators such as the body mass index calculator, ovulation, pregnancy or calories.

In case that you miss the ‘Xplik ou K Health’ show, which airs on Radio Plus every Tuesday, the podcasts will be posted on the website. One to two minute mini-videos, which will include tips and instructions from doctors on various health aspects, will also be posted. The public will also have access to the calendar, which will help them to be updated on celebrations of international health days and the list of health NGOs.

Note that in the context of the World Diabetes Day, the Ministry of Health is organising a series of activities across the island. The kick-off will be given on November 14 with a diabetes screening day and other medical tests at the Emmanuel Anquetil building from 9 am to 4 pm.
