The Central Electricity Board (CEB) has received its new diesel electric generators on Wednesday evening. It was quite a sight for inhabitants of the region who stood by the roadside to watch the special convoy transporting the engines. However, not everyone is happy with the revamped production capacity of the St-Louis power station. Some inhabitants have petitioned the environmental tribunal seeking an interim order to stop the operations of the power station. According to the petitioner's spokesperson, Abdool Farade Nunnoo, a court ruling will be handed out in the upcoming days.
