“Over the next two years, you will see the difference between 2014 and the end of our mandate... We will work hard to exceed the 4% benchmark. We are tackling unemployment. But we will not solve this problem in a few days. However, the trend is down. The World Bank ranked us at the 25th place in the ranking of the business climate. We must continue on this momentum,” he uttered.

According to Pravind Jugnauth, “there is no miracle recipe” but he trusts that hard work is the only way. He added that he wants the whole population to progress at the same time. “Last week we eliminated the last sugar camp in Mauritius. It was Sir Anerood Jugnauth who started this process. I brought the Voluntary Retirement Scheme and now we have introduced the minimum wage,” said the Prime Minister.

Commenting on the fight against drugs, Pravind Jugnauth added that he will be merciless against the ‘drug mafia’. He added that the value of shipments of drugs seized exceeds Rs 3 billion.
