Dubai Expo 2020

Mauritius will participate in the Dubai Expo 2020. A National Coordinating Committee will be set up to oversee the participation of Mauritius towards Expo 2020. Dubai Expo 2020 is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East and Southern Asia region.

The participation of some 180 countries and 25 million visitors is expected in the event which would be organised over a period of six months from October 2020 to April 2021 in Dubai, to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the United Arab Emirates.

The central theme of the Dubai Expo 2020 will be ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, along with three sub themes namely, “Mobility, Sustainability, and Opportunity”.

Participation in Dubai Expo 2020 will provide an opportunity to raise the profile of Mauritius as an investment and tourist destination not only in the Gulf region but also at international level to achieve our trade, investment and tourism objectives.
